Daniel Claypool

I typically don’t post personal items on my blog but this is an exception. This is my brother, Daniel. He has been playing football for a few years now but I haven’t been able to see any of his games. I love where I live but nothing has made me hate it more than not being able to be apart of my brother’s life and along with that, missing all of his high school football games. Fortunately, I was able to finally fly up and see the first game of this season. Not only was this game the first one that I had been able to watch, but it also ended up being the first time he scored a touchdown. Under normal circumstances I would have been incredibly proud of him. However, these were not normal circumstances. Almost exactly a week before this proud moment, my grandma passed away. She left a huge void in our hearts and lives. The days leading up to his game were difficult to say the least. He said, “I’m going to score a touchdown for grandma on Friday”. And sure enough, just a few minutes into the game he ran for a touchdown. He knelt and pointed to heaven for grandma. Under normal circumstances I would have been incredibly proud, these were no normal circumstances, words cannot describe the pride that I felt for my brother. He wanted that touchdown for grandma more than anything. He got it. Love you bud. Love you grandma.
